Collagraph Printing
Collagraph printing is a type of printing process which has a very painterly quality and appeals to artists who like an adventurous experimental approach to their art. As a vast range of tones, values, effects and textures are possible.
Collagraph plates are created by sticking and gluing relatively flat materials like textured paper or fabric onto the plate and then coating it with varnish or acrylic medium afterwards to protect the built up materials.
The finished plate will be made up of different levels, raised bits and low bits and once inked up can look like a piece of artwork in its own right.
Collagraph printmaking can be a very interesting way of working mainly because of the many different effects that can be created and the great variation in texture you can get from using different materials.
You can use paint, glue, leaves, fabric and almost anything with texture that are flat enough to not rip the paper when you print it.
Remember you can only get a limited number of prints from each plate as they are damaged each time they go through the printing press.

I think that Collagrph Printing an unusuall type of printing but has good techniques for artwork suchas tone,textures,values and effects.And also is a different type of artwork that can inspire other people to give it ago.
I really enjoy Collagraph Printing i think its interesting, quite fun and artistic. It can get very messy though with all the cutting and sticking, and the glue, mainly. Overall i really enjoy doing this.
I like collagraph printing because its unusal. I like that you can use a lot of different textures and effects and its not like any other art (e.g.: drawings, paintings). The only think i dont like is that it is very messy.
I like it but it is really messy and hard to make but i know how.

I like colograph printing because its fun and very artistic. It gets realy messy because yhh have to cut and stick and also you have to cover it in loads and loads of glue untill you cant even see the stuff you have stuck down. I like this because its artistic and fun.
i like collagraph printinf because i like doing all the phisical stuff like cutting and sticking and it is also is very messy which i like!
